Position
Description:
Under the direction of the Executive Director (or designee) is
accountable for work that that supports
the achievement of the mission and goals of WCN. The Program
Services Director is a leader in
ensuring WCN's continued success, a visible representative of the
organization across the state and in
other venues, and a role model for other staff. This position
requires energy, positivity, experience,
innovation, self-knowledge, critical thinking, and a
solution-seeking approach.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Leads and manages program planning, delivery and evaluation of
key strategic initiatives:
a. Washington Nursing Action Coalition/Master
Plan for Nursing Education
b. Image of Nursing
c. Nursing Practice
d. Collaborates on other strategic
initiatives
2. Collaborates with Executive Director to ensure strategic
initiatives are achieved/progress
towards goals are achieved
3. Participates in strategic and tactical goal development and
evaluation
4. Perform assignments effectively, efficiently, and as
committed
5. Works effectively with WCN Board members, staff, and
stakeholders
6. Represents WCN with key stakeholders as identified
7. Complies with all WCN policies and procedures
8. Serves as the deputy to the Executive Director in his/her
absence and when assigned
9. Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
1. No less than ten years professional experience in nursing
2. Master's Degree
3. Unencumbered WA State RN license
4. Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database
management
5. Experience in data collection, analysis, and report
creation
6. Experience working independently with minimal on-site
supervision
7. Experience managing staff
8. Experience working with multiple stakeholders on projects or in
daily work
9. Experience with project planning, delivery and evaluation
10. Demonstrated expertise in written and verbal
communications
PREFERRED
1. More than ten years professional experience in nursing
2. PhD Degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or related field
3. Expertise with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database
management
4. Expertise managing business accountabilities
5. Expertise managing staff
6. Experience working collaboratively with organized labor
7. Experience working in a nonprofit organization and working with
a Board of Directors
8. Experience with grant writing and grant management
9. Expertise in data collection, research, analysis, and report
creation
10. Expertise preparing written documents and reports and making
oral presentations
11. Experience working with legislators and legislative
staff
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to the Executive Director
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Compensation and benefits determined by WCN. This is a full-time,
exempt position.
