The Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel is located within Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center, and provides care for virtually all specialties for children and teens. It is one of the most comprehensive pediatric tertiary care facilities in the region, and is the hospital of choice of metropolitan-area pediatricians. The current 155-bed Children’s Hospital is part of Legacy Health, an integrated health system of six tertiary care hospitals, and is served by its own Children’s Transport Team.

A major expansion is planned for the The Children’s Hospital in order to meet the growing need for highly specialized pediatric care. The “New Emanuel” project includes a new nine-story, 300,000 square foot Children’s Hospital, which will offer state-of-the-art private inpatient rooms, a dedicated Children’s Emergency Department, and our new single-room design Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. As Nurse Manager, you will have the opportunity to guide the NICU department through this transition into a single-room model of care within new space and to be a member of the dynamic Children’s Hospital leadership team.

This exciting full-time position gives the qualified candidate the opportunity to lead within a strong and collaborative shared governance structure and to assume responsibility for the overall operations of our 45-bed, Level 3C NICU department. We provide the highest level of neonatal care in Oregon by serving critically ill infants transported from throughout the region as well as infants delivered within Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, which is home to the Center for Maternal Fetal Medicine. We are a regional neonatal and pediatric ECMO center and a member of ELSO.

Requires BSN or equivalent experience, Master’s degree preferred. Minimum five years clinical NICU experience and NICU management experience strongly preferred. Must have demonstrated excellent communication and leadership skills and a willingness to lead by example. Oregon RN licensure required at the time of hire.
