Emergency Department Nurse Manager


Come and continue to grow your nurse management career in our Emergency Department at Salem Hospital! Salem Hospital is seeking a dynamic, experienced, team-oriented and quality focused individual to assume the role ofEmergency Department Nurse Manager. 

Our Emergency Department is a newer state-of-the-art 56-bed unit, staffed around the clock with exceptional nurse-to-patient ratios.  We are prepared handle all medical emergencies, including major traumas. We are staffed by Salem Hospital Emergency Physician Specialists who have helped grow this Emergency Department over the past 30 years.

This position will provide oversight for patient care services in their assigned areas to include promotion of quality evidence-based care and patient satisfaction in a fiscally responsive manner.  Scope of responsibility includes, but is not limited to, patient safety and satisfaction, staff competency and education, equipment management, performance improvement, budgeting, and personnel management. Works collaboratively with staff, physicians, other departments and nursing personnel to facilitate and improve patient services.  Assists the Emergency Department Director on specific projects and other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Requires BSN; Master's Degree preferred.  For internal candidates, requires BSN attainment within 2 years of moving into the Nurse Manager position.
  • Requires AONE or AACN nursing administration certification OR achievement of certification within area of specialty within one year of hire or by completion of BSN degree, whichever is earlier.
  • 3 years minimum RN experience required in an emergency department setting.
  • Requires BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC.
  • 1 to 3 years of progressive management experience required.
