Education Department is seeking a dynamic, experienced,
team-oriented, and quality focused professional to assume the role
ofClinical Education Supervisor!
In support of the organization's
Mission to improve the health and well-being of the people and
community we serve, the Clinical Education Supervisor will oversee
daily operations of the clinical education team. This
position will function in the supervisory role 50% of the time or
more and the remainder of the time work as a professional
development specialist. This position will facilitate
training solutions that maximize the business performance of our
customers (directors, managers and specialty practice teams (SPT's)
in caring for patients; assign work to the professional development
specialists and will monitor progress and completion of the work;
and perform basic supervisory functions such as orienting, training
and evaluating department staff. The position will require a
strong education and training background, knowledge of the
healthcare industry, superior customer service skills
and the willingness and ability to lead a high performing
team.
General responsibilities include:
- Performs basic supervisory functions such as hire orient,
discharge and personnel; establish employee goals and conduct
performance reviews.
- Perform staff scheduling to include coverage of employee
vacations, back-up for absent employees and employee training.
- Assigns work to the Professional Development Specialists LMS
Administrator and HR Assistant. Monitors completion and
progress of the work.
- Oversees department processes such as the education request
process. Evaluates department processes and coordinates changes
based on analysis.
- Responsible for the daily operations of the clinical education
team.
- Assists the manager with budget planning and monitoring.
- Collects data and information related to educational needs and
other pertinent situations.
- Analyzes issues, trends, and supporting data to determine the
education needs of individuals, departments and divisions.
- Establishes a plan that prescribes strategies, alternatives,
and resources to achieve expected education outcomes.
- Coordinates educational initiatives and activities.
Employs strategies and techniques to promote positive learning and
practice environments.
- Identifies desired education outcomes; implements the
identified education plan.
- Provides consultation to influence education plans, enhance the
abilities of others and effect change.
- Evaluates progress toward attainment of education
outcomes.
- Systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of
professional development practice.
- Maintains current knowledge and competency in nursing or
professional development practice.
- Evaluates his or her own practice in relation to professional
practice standards and guidelines, and relevant statutes, rules and
regulations.
- Establishes collegial partnerships contributing to the
professional development of peers, students, colleagues, and
others.
- Collaborates with interprofessional teams, leaders,
stakeholders, and others to facilitate clinical practice and
positive outcomes for patients.
- Advocates for the protection and rights of individuals,
families, communities, populations, healthcare providers, nursing
and other professions, institutions and organizations.
- Provides leadership in the professional practice setting and
the profession.

Knowledge, Skills
& Abilities:
- In depth knowledge of the Education Process.
- Up to date learning methodologies, technology, tools and
trends
- Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Excellent customer-facing communication skills are a must,
including the ability to gather and clarify requirements, present
solutions, manage expectations and provide great customer
service.
- Must be flexible and have the ability to work in teams or
alone, influence changes, manage multiple projects, demonstrate
high attention to detail and meet tight deadlines.
Job Requirements:
The successful
candidate will at a minimum have:
- Master's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Education required or
obtain within three (3) years of hire. Will consider Master's
Degree in other related fields such as education if candidate
holds a Bachelors Degree in Nursing; AND
- Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience; AND
- Previous education or teaching experience; AND
- Current unencumbered Oregon RN license
Preference may be
given to candidates with:
- Previous supervisory experience;
- Nursing Professional Development Certification
